Background
In
1930 in Thessalonica ( Northern Greece ) a small family labour
industry was founded by Mr. Athanassios Gova and Mrs. Panagjota
Gova.
The Production of the primarily
products:
- Ladles
- Wire baskets
- Plate supports
- Whisks
- Mesh Skimmers
During the duration of Second World
War, the small productive unit stops all activities.
In 1950 the family labour industry
begins a small productive activity in its privately-owned land
in the Prefecture of Attica in the municipality of Vyronas.
The production unit grows and the work is modernised with minimal
rhythms of growth.
In 1970 the son of the family Mr.
Michalis Govas continues the production activity in a newer
and larger privately-owned space in Spata Attica. Bought new
and modern equipment and automated all the existing product
range and simultaneously added new products into the production
line.
The company commenced a small export
activity in:
- the Former Yugoslavia,
- in Lebanon
- in Cyprus,
- in the United States of America ( U.S.A. ) and in the
- European Union countries, France and Germany.
In 1977 the company from a sole proprietorship
becomes a Public Limited Company (Societe Anonyme ), comes in
the present form of GOVAS S.A. with the continuation of Mr.
Micheal Govas' daughters: Ms. Gova Panagiota and Ms. Gova Athanasia.
Remained a productive unit during the difficult
competitive times, and added new product codes in the production line made of
iron and stainless steel wire in order to correspond to the new market requirements
of the sector.
